Windows 10 now controls 9% of the operating system market. The latest NetMarketShare report shows Windows 7 is still the most popular OS with 56.11%, but Windows 10 is growing fast and is now in fourth place, sitting just a little behind XP and Windows 8.1.
Most of Windows 10's market share growth was seen shortly after its launch, but it is still gaining about 1% each month, which isn't bad. It'll only take a few more months for Windows 10 to sit right behind Windows 7 at this rate.
Microsoft's goal from the beginning of Windows 10 has been to get the operating system onto a billion devices in three years, which would definitely make the OS the most widely used in the world.
